Boris reveals how his mother became his toughest piano critic

Boris, born in Russia, grew up surrounded by music in a Moscow home that held a small piano across four generations of his family. His mother and grandmother were both pianists, and his great-grandmother taught the instrument. At five years old he persistently asked his mother for lessons even though she initially refused, concerned about the demanding life of a musician. Today he still sends recordings of his concerts to her for honest feedback that he considers invaluable.
